Mid 19th century. New England origin. Very early all hand sewn penny rug with cotton and wool pennies on a natural homespun background. In colors of red, tan, beige, brown, green and black. Backing is a homespun grain sack. Does have wear and losses but it just adds to this rug's charm, warmth and character. Measures 34" across, 39" from point to point.
