19th Century. New England origin. Thick old dark sage green paintt is over an original grayish blue paint. Copper tacks. Missing one staple on the lap of lid. Lovely old oxidation and grungy patina. Very good condition and beautiful dry painted surface. Clean inside. Measures 9 1/2" across top, 10 1/8" across bottom by 9 1/2" high with swing handle down. (R)
