Mid 19th century. New England origin. Original strong color paint and painted decoration on this great folding gameboard. Checkers on the outside and Backgammon on the inside. Exceptional painted detail on the board "spine" to resemble a pair of books. Pine wood with small cut square nails and original brass hinges. With nice wear, especially on the edges. Some missing slivers of wood at the gameboard spine. Measures 17" by 18 1/2" unfolded. (R)
