First half of the 20th century. Wiscasset, Maine origin. Original blue painted canted sided pine wood berry box filled with an arrangement in a color scheme of browns and blues. In very good condition with only minor wear. Measures 7 3/4” square on top by 9 1/2” high. Doris Stauble loved best, and was most famous for, her arrangements using browns and blues like in this piece. This example is also much more country in style than most of her works that were more Victorian period like.
